Restore wheel cleaner cleans and restores all wheel types including alloy, polished, chrome, painted, steel and wire wheels. Free of oxalic acid, it uses new technology and biodegradable surfactants, is non abrasive and requires no scrubbing. Using Restore will not only clean your wheels but will also restore the finish back to its original state. Restore removes all brake dust and corrosion, leaving wheels clean, restored and streak-free. It will even remove thick, old layers of brake dust and corrosion from all nooks and crannies. Restore's merits aren't confined to wheels - it can be used on any metals or painted metals (it doesn't damage paint) and is ideal for cleaning engine bays, etc.
Restore is phosphate free, contains no alkyl phenol ethoxylates, NTA, EDTA or HEDTA, and is quick and easy to use. It doesn't dry out quickly, is effective in soft and hard water and won't leave white deposits when used with the latter. A must-have product for any serious car enthusiast's garage.
Pour the required volume of Restore into a clean jar or metal pail. This will prevent your bottle of Restore becoming contaminated by your chosen applicator.
Apply Restore neat on severe build-ups or diluted on less severe contamination, working it in all the nooks and crannies of your wheel.
We advise brush application, either with a suitable wheel detailing brush or a paint brush. When using a paint brush, apply low tack tape around the metal edge to prevent it damaging wheel rims.
Agitate the Restore on the surface of the wheel with the brush and allow to dwell for up to 20 minutes (a few minutes is usually ample on average build-ups). Agitate with a brush again (wet your brush with water to reactivate the Restore if it has started to dry out on the surface), then dwell for another 10-15 minutes if required. Rinse with water at low pressure. Brush to aid rinsing if necessary. Always use clean equipment.
Restore is ideal for removing severe build-ups of brake dust, dirt, grime and oil without damaging your wheels. Patience is advised as it may take more than one application to get your desired result without the need to scrub and damage your wheels. Allow the time necessary to achieve the result you desire.
Restore is just as suitable for tackling lighter contamination on your wheels and, due to its concentrated formula, can be diluted with water for use as an everyday wheel wash. Put your diluted formulation in a trigger spray and spray on to dirty wheels. Leave for a few minutes and agitate with a paint brush or wheel brush if necessary. Then rinse your wheels with clean water.
I have used this product on my MGF's wheels, which I had thought were quite clean. How wrong I was! A small quantity of Restore was all that I needed to work wonders - all deposits were easily removed, making my wheels look like new.
Restore is a brush-on cleaner so application takes longer than the spray and foam types. However, because this product is so powerful - and because the surface is being agitated with a brush from the start - it gets to work immediately. The pack instructions suggest that the product is left to work for 10-15 minutes. But we found that after applying it to a whole wheel, the product could be hosed off straight away to reveal a spotless surface beneath. This is one of the more expensive products on test, but there's very little waste thanks to the brush-on application. An impressive performer. 18/20
