Scholl Concepts S17+ high performance compound is a fast and easy one-step, multi-purpose compound that gives outstanding results and a brilliant high gloss finish. It is suitable for use on scratched, freshly painted or badly weathered paintwork and can quickly and effortlessly remove deep scratches and P1500 grit sanding marks.

When using S17+, very little compound is needed on the pad and dust production is minimal, whilst the cut achieved is maximum! Users benefit from easy handling, high cut, optimal anti-hologram properties and a guaranteed rich, deep long-lasting shine.

S17+ is a silicone-free, universal cutting compound suitable for conventional and scratch-resistant paints, freshly painted or dull and badly weathered, and light to heavily scratched paintwork.

Intelligent microscopic abrasive particles based on aluminium oxide increase speed (cut) significantly and guarantee a brilliant high gloss finish.

S17+ can be applied by Rotary (1000-2000 RPM) or Orbital (2000-10000 RPM) machine polishers or by hand. Apply S17+ compound sparingly as a little goes a long way.

What pads can I use with S17+ High Performance Compound?

With S17+, cut intensity and gloss level can be regulated by using different polishing pads. For best results, use with the Spider Sandwich Pad, lambswool pads or White Hand Puck (manual application).

To increase cut and remove deep scratches, use with a quality lambswool pad such as Spautopia Premium Lambswools and the Scholl Concepts TopWool Polishing pads or with the Spider Sandwich Pad. The Spider Sandwich Pad has a calibrated 3D surface and black hard interface layer which maintains firmness during heavy polishing applications without the risk of over compression. The spider surface absorbs more compound, allows air to circulate (so less heat is generated during polishing) and maximises the yield of the polish.

Use with the Purple or Blue Foam Pads to eliminate normal scratches and P2000 scratch patterns.

Use S17+ with the Orange Foam Pad or Black Softouch Waffle Pad for final, hologram-free finishing. These pads are particularly effective on delicate paint surfaces.

With S17+ you determine the level of cut and shine with your choice of pad.

How do I use S17+ with the White Hand Puck for manual application?

The ultimate paint finish will always come from using a polishing machine. However, if you don't own one or don't like the idea of using one, using S17+ with the White Hand Puck enables you to achieve startlingly good results by hand. The ergonomic shape and firm premium foam of the puck creates even pressure distribution, enabling manual removal of light scratches and swirl marks, restoring a shine and a lustre to even the dullest, tired and weathered paintwork.

Apply a few small drops of S17+ directly on the puck and a few small drops on the surface to be polished. Rub with moderate pressure, in circular or straight line movements (according to your preference/technique). If the puck starts to dry, apply a few more drops of S17+ and continue polishing.

Do not apply too much polishing compound as it will build a lubricating film which hinders the removal rate. Wipe off polish residue with a soft polishing cloth.

Use for permanent rectification of defects like light to medium scratch removal by hand. The puck is also ideal for removing scratches around door handles and other difficult-to-access areas.

Useful tips when applying S17+ by machine polisher

If you can't access tight areas with your polishing machine, make sure you have White and Black Hand Pucks as part of your essential compounding kit. The pucks are ideal for paint rectification where a machine can't be used and are made from the same high quality, premium foam as the machine polishing pads.

Can you use a Black Hand Puck for manual application of S17+?

The Black Hand Puck is made from a softer finishing foam and has a lot less mechanical cut when used with heavier compounds than the White Hand Puck. As such, it can be useful to remove any hazing or fine scratches left after S17+ application with a White Hand Puck. This is extremely useful for achieving perfect paint on softer finishes.

The short time, slow speed cutting works a treat! I've just corrected the bonnet of my Golf in record time and it looks stunning! Why oh why didn't I discover Scholl Concepts sooner?

We tackled our panel twice with the White Hand Puck and the results were clear. After buffing off, S17+ left a deep shine and glossy finish, ready for waxing.

To achieve this result without mopping is a credit to the compound. I'm sure an electric mop would achieve an even better finish. Even so, S17+ and that puck both work and my 2000 has a decent shine again.
